VALVES

A valve is a device that regulates, directs, or controls the flow of a fluid (gases, liquids, fluidized solids, or slurries) by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways. Although valves are technically classified as fittings, they are generally considered a separate product category.

In an open valve, fluid flows from a higher pressure area to a lower pressure area. One of the earliest and simplest valve designs is the check valve, which allows flow in one direction while preventing reverse flow through a freely hinged flap mechanism.

Valves are widely used across numerous industries and applications, including:

  • Water irrigation systems
  • Industrial process control
  • Residential plumbing and pressure control systems
  • Dishwashers, washing machines, and household taps
  • Aerosol dispensing systems
  • Military and transportation industries
  • Water and sewage treatment plants
  • Mining operations
  • Power generation plants
  • Oil, gas, and petroleum industries
  • Food processing and manufacturing
  • Chemical and plastic manufacturing

Valves are an essential component in virtually every industrial process where accurate flow control, safety, and reliability are required.
